Whether you are flying alone or in a busy park, it is good to remember kite safety:
Parks, beaches, and recreation fields can be crowded, with many different activities condensed into the same space. It is our responsibility as kite flyers to make sure we carry out our sport safely so that we continue to fly in these places.
Consideration of Others
Reducing the risk
If you are flying a traction/power kite for the first time find an experienced flier to help you, or have lesson with a kite school.
Beware of the limitations of your skills and strength and do not fly anything too large for the wind conditions, also try not to over stretch yourself with new complicated moves near other people and be aware of the power limitations of your kites.
Make sure kite anchors are correct for the ground, and are strong and secure to hold the kite.
In the event that your kite skills, strength or equipment fails. Make sure that all of your kite safety systems are in working order.
Think safe and fly safe.
SB Kites is the only kite school in the Dorset coastal area which offers land based power kite lessons, kite buggy lessons and kiteboarding lessons.
